His Word Stands Forever

                                                   Contributed by Ed Moore

From the beginning, the adversary has sought various ways to trick men into being disobedient. Truly, there is nothing new under the sun. He can either undermine Yahuah's word or he can tempt men to sin even if they know it is wrong. And what better way to deceive but to say that "That word Yahuah spoke is of no effect anymore!" Therefore we must love His word if we want to avoid the deceitfulness of sin. Who can really say they love Yahusha unless they also love the Word? Is He not the Word of Yahuah?

John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

He is the Word in the Old Testament and the New Testament also. In truth, we must love and seek to obey the WHOLE word, not just a "New Testament" and not just an "Old testament," for it is ALL Yahweh's word.

Matthew 13:52
Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

Indeed, if it is scripture then it is Yahweh's word and must be heeded by us!

2 Timothy 3:16,17
All scripture is given by inspiration of YAHUAH, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 - That the man of YAHWEH may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

ALL SCRIPTURE, not just a part here or there. His commandments are not multiple choice, no matter what men may tell you.

Yahushua warned us:

Matthew 7:13,14
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 - Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Notice that he said that we must "find it." If we must "find it", then it must mean that we should be looking for it. We cannot be complacent and sit back doing nothing. We must be seeking the truth in his word regularly. We will do this because we love the truth and do not want to be fooled by the deceitfulness of sin. Notice also that Yahushua said only a "few" find it. Now if we are on a path that everyone else is on, how can we be on a path that "few find"? This is why we should not be surprised that the whole world is deceived. In fact, Scripture says that this will be the case:

Revelation 12:9
So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

What methods does the adversary use to deceive? One of his greatest advantages is that those who are deceived are so often his willing participants to engage in deceiving others. Look at what Yahushua said after warning us to enter the narrow way of life:

Matthew 7:13-15
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 - Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Right away He warned about false prophets. But how can we tell the difference? Let's examine this question by continuing in the chapter:

Matthew 7:16-20
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 - Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 - A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 - Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 - Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Hmm.. we know them by their fruits? What does this mean? Yahushua said:

John 15:4
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

To even bear good fruit, one must abide in Yahushua. How can we know if one is abiding in Yahushua?

1John 2:4,5
He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 - But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of YAHWEH is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

Christians insist that "the law" was abolished. How is that possible when sin is transgression of "the law"? When and by whom was it abolished? Certainly not by YAHusha! He said He came NOT to abolish but to confirm (Hebrew: koom which means "establish/confirm)". Why would YAHusha's role as FINAL SIN SACRIFICE in any way negate Torah - YHVH's original teaching and instruction? Did He ever say, "I came to abolish Torah and render my original teachings void"? YAHusha is our "New Covenant" and "Sin Sacrifice". Period. YHVH gave us a New Covenant, not a new Torah! Did He even mention Torah at all as He spoke about giving us a New Covenant (Jer.31:30-33/Heb.8:8-12)? You won't find anything in the Scriptures to show that Torah was ever abolished.

YAHusha said: Matthew 5: 17 Don't think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. 18 Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah - not until everything that must happen has happened. If "ALL" hasn't happened yet, and heaven and earth have not passed away, then that must mean that His Torah is still valid....
